Your coach base price is different from the public lesson price and the golfer’s final total. BirdieYard’s lower fee for eligible repeat or coach-referred lessons increases your earnings; it doesn’t reduce the golfer’s displayed price.
How the lesson price is calculated
The public lesson price is your base price plus 15% of that base. BirdieYard’s lesson fee is calculated from the base amount:
First completed lesson without a qualifying coach referral: 15% of the base.
Eligible coach-referred first lesson: 10% of the base.
Subsequent lessons after a completed lesson with that student: 10% of the base.
A qualifying referral must be recorded from the coach’s valid referral link. A verbal referral or plain profile link doesn’t establish the discounted rate. A canceled request doesn’t count as a completed lesson.
Example: $70 base price
The public lesson price is $80.50. In this example the BirdieYard service fee is $3.50, making the golfer’s total $84.
Standard first lesson: BirdieYard’s lesson fee is $10.50, leaving $70 in coach proceeds.
Eligible repeat or referral lesson: BirdieYard’s lesson fee is $7, leaving $73.50 in coach proceeds.
The golfer pays $84 in both cases. The separate $3.50 service fee is not part of the coach proceeds.
Check your particular lesson
The request records the applicable offering price rather than automatically repricing when you edit an offering later. Rounding can affect the service fee, so use the displayed total rather than a flat-percentage shortcut.
These examples describe a successfully charged, completed lesson before any later refund or adjustment. They don’t establish cancellation or no-show charges, and coach proceeds aren’t a promise of a particular bank payout date.
